Kep Hotels, Bungalows and Guesthouses. Boutiques, Villas, Camping and Resorts.
These accommodations are mostly either hotels on or near the beach or bungalow style in the hills overlooking the beach. Some Kep hotels are very basic, some are very elaborate. Most places in the hills of the Kep National Park have impressive flora and landscaping.
You’ll need transportation to most all of these places, and for many, you’ll want to rent a scooter (small automatic motorcycle) or bicycle to get around. Your only other options are walking, hiring a car, or a Tuk Tuk (a cart pulled by a motorcycle) for each trip. Motorcycles rent for around $5 a day, and a liter of gas, good for an hour drive, costs about $1. You can get 2 people (and a kid) on one motorcycle. No gears, and very easy to drive.
Kep is very spread out.
Which is good, because it’s not very busy (except at the beach during holidays). Not good, because you need some transportation to get anywhere. Good, because it’s really beautiful and interesting to drive around.
Half the places here have swimming pools. Half don’t.
There’s another 40 hotel / guesthouses here that just have basic rooms and nothing else. Maybe no English spoken as well (or any other language than Khmer).
