Activities in Kep, Cambodia
Not a lot to do in Kep. That’s the way we like it. Hang out at the beach, eat seafood, bicycle around town, get a massage, visit the caves, take a boat ride, visit an island, go to the National Park.
Sounds like a lot, but it really isn’t.

Kep Beach East – 90% of Kep’s beaches aren’t at the “Beach”. Along the coast towards Vietnam (from “The Beach), there are hundreds of beach restaurants and bars, and dozens of hotels. Not great swimming beaches, but just fine for relaxation and seafood.
You can also take a walking tour of the Kep National Park (best done in the daylight hours) or Sunset Rock (best done in the evening)
Wat Samathi – Buddhist Wat on the hill, overlooking Kep and Vietnam.
or Wat Num Bone – up from Chhne Angkoul Beach. The Wat with the most Buddha statues.
You can also take a boat trip to Rabbit Island (Koh Tonsay), off the coast of Kep. About $25 for a round trip ( a maximum of 8 people for the boat). No McDonald’s on the island, just a few food vendors, and a few beach bungalows places for $8 – $25 (all day or overnight), and lots of sand and trees. The trip takes about half an hour; and the best swimming and snorkeling beaches in Kep are found here. The boat leaves from the pier just across from the island.
Kep Fishing Port – a long stretch of beach (but not a swimming beach) with fishing boats moored in the daytime. A seafood restaurant on the Fishing Pier, Mangrove Trees, Wat Num Bone (above) and not much else. Kep’s salt fields are at the far end of the beach. Quiet and picturesque.
It takes about 2 hours by motorcycle, many more by bicycle to ride the road around the town of Kep. Half of this is along the ocean. It takes a few weeks to drive all the roads in Kep by bicycle.
Outside of Kep, towards Kampot are the Phnom Sosir Caves, atop a small “Mountains”. If you’re passing by, it’s worth an hour stop.
